Amaretti Cookies

Ingredients

2 egg whites
300 g almond flour
250 g sugar
2 tbsp Amaretto liqueur

Powdered sugar for sprinkling

Method

1. Preheat oven into 170 °C.
2. Combine flour and sugar in a blender bowl, add liqueur
3. In another bowl beat egg whites to stiff peaks.
4. Gently fold the sugar-almond mixture into the egg whites, spoon by spoon.
5. Sprinkle the table with powdered sugar. From the resulting dough, roll a sausage with a diameter of 3-4 cm, cut it into pieces. Roll each piece into a ball, dusting it in powdered sugar.
6. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with baking paper; they will increase in size only slightly.
7. Bake for about 20 minutes on top level of your oven.

Important Notes

Pay attention that these cookies of Cookie Calendar bake on top level of the oven. This is quite unusual for baking, but in the case of miniature cookies, it’s necessary. This will allow the baking temperature to act more intensely on the dough, resulting in a finished cookie with attractive cracks.
