Yes, homemade pasta takes some time. But once you try making homemade pasta in tomato sauce, you will always feel the difference in taste when preparing the same dish with pasta from the store.

Homemade pasta is delicious like every homemade dish.
It’s healthy.
Let’s start with basic yellow pasta.
Pasta
yellow and orange, red and green
Ingredients
Ingredients for Basic Pasta
500 g all purpose flour plus 100 g flour for dusting
5 eggs (take eggs out of the fridge in half an hour)
Add other ingredients coordinated to the pasta’s color you would like to get:
Addition for Yellow Pasta
50 g water
Addition for Green Pasta
100 g spinach
Addition for Orange Pasta
150 g carrots
Addition for Red Pasta
1 tsp concentrated tomato paste
Addition for Black Pasta
1 bag squid ink
Instruction
Making Yellow Pasta
- Mix eggs and flour, add water gradually. Knead the dough. In this step I use a bread maker.
2. Prepare your pasta machine according to its instruction.

3. Roll out the dough to the desired thickness, then cut into the pasta. I’m making fetuccini today.

4. Leave the paste to dry completely. Use a stand if necessary.

Making Green Pasta
Wash spinach, then boil for 15 min. Cool, blend and add to the base dough (there is no water there!).
Making Orange Pasta
Peel carrots, slice them and boil 15-25 min. Mash and add to the basic dough.
How to speed up the cooking time of homemade pasta
There are several points that could help you in making pasta. You can easily speed up the process by:
1. bread maker machine or dough mixer. I usually use my Kenwood bread maker in the role of dough mixer.
2. Pasta maker. My hero is Marcato Atlas 150 and am totally satisfied.

Marcato has many accessories for different types of pasta. My favourite one is fettuccine. And no, I don’t have pastadrive: sometime it’s necessary to be in slowdown.
3. Wood stand with many sticks for drying.

But just to leave for drying on a table is also a good decision although this will increase drying time.

4. Your family enthusiasts. Ask children to help you. Have some fun. Take photos of the process. Making pasta is a lot of playfulness. In my opinion it will be a good memory in a future.

Ingredients
For Yellow Pasta
- 500 g all purpose flour

- 50 g water
For Green Pasta
- 500 g all purpose flour
- 100 g all purpose flour for dusting
- 5 eggs
- 100 g fresh spinach
Instructions
Making Yellow Pasta Dough
- Mix eggs and flour, add water gradually. Knead the dough.
Making Green Pasta Dough
- Wash spinach, then boil for 15 min. Cool, then blend it.
- Mix eggs and flour, add blended spinach. Knead the dough (there is no water there!).
Cutting and Dying
- Prepare your pasta machine according to its instruction.
- Roll out the dough to the desired thickness, then cut into the pasta.
- Leave the paste to dry completely. Use a stand if necessary.
